New independent-statistician analyses show DCVax-L survival benefit was underestimated (Ref)
Northwest Biotherapeutics presented updated survival data from the Phase 3 trial of DCVax®-L (dendritic cell-based vaccine) for glioblastoma (GBM) at the 2026 BNOS meeting.
Survival benefit of DCVax-L was likely underestimated in the original trial analysis
New analyses used individual patient-level data (IPD) from several major randomized controlled trials (RCTs), enabling more precise comparisons than the original cohort-level data
Independent statisticians used propensity score matching (PSM) and inverse probability weighting (IPW)
Results:
PSM analyses showed median survival advantage of 3.4 - 6.3 mos with DCVax-L
Hazard ratios ranged 0.69 – 0.77, with p-values 0.004 – 0.027
IPW analyses confirmed similar survival benefits (3.4 – 4.3 mos)
Original cohort-level analysis had shown only 2.8 mos survival advantage
Multiple independent approaches consistently show DCVax-L provides a meaningful survival benefit in newly diagnosed glioblastoma patients
